Frequently Asked Questions

How often should the filters be replaced?

In general, we suggest you replace the first stage filter of your system every 6 months and then the second and third stage filters every 12 months. This does depend very heavily on the quality of water in your particular area; we have heard some instances of filters being replaced every month in regions with very bad water quality.

Do I need a plumber to install these products?

It depends on your own level of skill and DIY abilities. We recommend getting a professional plumber to install the Point of Entry systems into your house as these will require turning off the water at the mains. We also suggest getting a plumber to help you install the Under Counter units as special tools are required to fit them into the copper pipes under your sink. The Counter Top units, however, are more straightforward and if you feel up to it, could be done without the assistance of a plumber.

What are the thread sizes on the units?

All the units come with standard 3/4" fittings.

Do the Systems come with filters included?

Only the Under Counter and Counter Top units come with filters included, the Big Blue and 10" point of entry system do not come with filters included.

What micron size is the ultrafiltration filter?

The Ultrafiltration system (fourth stage) filter filters our matter and bacteria to 0.02 microns.

What is the maximum pressure that the point of entry systems can accomodate?

The point of entry systems can handle up to 6 bar of pressure.

What material is used on the point of entry inlet and outlet connections?

The point of entry systems have brass fittings which are much more durable.
